What do I need to get a Killingly Public Library card?
Adult applicants who live in Killingly must provide a photo ID and proof that you live or pay property taxes in Killingly. Acceptable IDs include:

Applying for a Juvenile Library Card
For youth under the age of 16, a parent or guardian must sign the application form attesting to the validity of the information and accepting responsibility for materials borrowed on the card. Parents/guardians are responsible for lost or damaged materials borrowed by their children.
Juvenile Library Card holders can borrow children’s print materials, audiobooks, and access digital resources.

Residents of Killingly who do not have a permanent address are eligible for a library card if they meet the following conditions: They must have a Photo ID & a letter signed by the shelter staff designee. There is a 30-Day Expiration Date and a limit of 2 cataloged items at any one time. This card will not allow holds to be placed on items that do not reside at the Killingly Library.

Any teacher employed by the Killingly School System qualifies for a teacher card. The teacher must complete an application card. The card will remain at KPL in our registration file and is valid for the school year. Privileges include requesting more than five (5 books) per subject area and a 4-week loan period for items borrowed. Request forms must be submitted at the circulation desk prior to borrowing more than five (5) books in one subject area. Materials are for professional use and/or classroom use only. Renewals cannot be made on these materials. These privileges are specific to Killingly Public Library.

Killingly Public Library has a loan policy for schools, group homes, senior and congregate housing, nursing homes and other facilities with supervisory staff willing to accept financial responsibility for any overdue fines/fee and lost/damaged materials.
The card is registered using the name of the institution and allows multiple users to borrow materials. The program director MUST sign a Killingly Public Library application form and provide the library with a list of authorized borrowers. It is the program director’s responsibility to notify the library of additions and deletions to the authorized borrower list.
Only one (1) library card/number will be issued per institution, and that card will REMAIN AT THE LIBRARY. Any person requesting use of the card will be required to verify their identification, and their name must be on the authorized list. Please be aware that the library is not able to identify which employee borrows specific items.
The card is valid for one (1) year from the date of issue. It may be renewed provided the account is clear of fines, fees and overdue items. A new list of authorized users will be required at the time of renewal.
Borrowing of print and non-print materials will be under the general circulation guidelines.
