Louisa is a small town girl who flits from job to job with no extraordinary plans or ambitions. She takes a job caring for Will, a man used to living large and enjoying the finer things in life before his tragic accident. At first their work relationship is caustic and strained but eventually it turns to friendship and more. Two people with completely different outlooks make an indelible mark on each other's souls in the too-short time they have together.
Normally this isn't the sort of book I gravitate towards but I found myself quickly engrossed in the story and in love with each of the characters. Well.. maybe not with Patrick. I devoured the book and found myself laughing and sobbing throughout. The story was well written. The characters are both quirky and compelling. I mourned the end of the book, an experience I find myself having too infrequently and I can't wait for the movie to come out this summer!
